Civil War Living History Day Learn about life during the turbulent 1860s with reenactors, historians, members of the Tidewater Blacksmith’s Guild, and Junior Docents—all demonstrating life on the home front or in the military. Meet Deanna Klingel and John Bushore, two authors of books for young adults, and take a final tour of Under Both Flags: Civil War in the Albemarle before it closes at the end of the day. Carriage rides ($5 per person, with Carolina Carriages) and pony rides ($3 per child, with Circle S Stables) will be available. Before you leave, visit the Museum Gift Shop and look for a Civil War–related book, souvenir, or item of memorabilia.
